ADVANCED MATERIAL SCIENCES, INC. ANNOUNCES:
Advanced Material Sciences’ PDS™ wafer thinning protection technology awarded the Technology Innovation Showcase Award (TIS) at SEMICON West 2006
FOLSOM, CA—June 16, 2006—Advanced Material Sciences, Inc., an innovative next generation materials technology company developing protection solutions for the substrate thinning marketplace, announced today that its consumable protection product, PDS™, has been recognized and awarded a position at the Technology Innovation Showcase (TIS) - SEMICON West 2006.
The TIS, a part of the technology focused “shows-within-the-show” TechXPOT showcase at SEMICON West 2006, has recognized the AMS PDS™ solution as an advanced wafer thinning protection technology, successfully positioned for the Test and Assembly/Packaging sector of the semiconductor market. Identified by a panel of industry experts, TIS winners are jury-selected companies who represent the highest level of innovation in their respective fields.
The AMS Protective Disc System (PDS™) is a patent pending composite material designed for the protection and support of fragile substrates throughout thinning manufacturing processes. Its thermoplastic characteristics create a unique protective system that conforms to multiple surface topographies.
Located at the West Hall (Level 2, booth T15) AMS will have a display booth showcasing the PDS™ solution at SEMICON West in San Francisco July 11 – 13th. In addition, AMS will be presenting its PDS™ technology at the Test, Assembly and Packaging TechXPOT (TAP) stage area on Wednesday, July 12th from 4:00 pm – 4:20 pm.
“The PDS™ technology is a consumable solution designed for a much needed advancement in the protection and support of ultra-thin substrate manufacturing,” said Jill Todd, President of Advanced Material Sciences. “As a start-up company, we are pleased and excited to be recognized by semiconductor industry leaders as an innovative manufacturer of quality materials and strategic solutions,” added Todd.
